Disqus commenting system

    Thanks for taking the time to personally welcome me to Disqus! It's always nice to see people who are passionate about their product and want to make sure that their customers enjoy using it.

    My first experiences with Disqus are certainly good. The setup was pretty easy. There are a few things left to iron out, but I know you guys are working on them :-) An important feature is being able to import existing comments. The Wordpress plugin settings menu could have been a bit clearer on this as well (what does "Replace" exactly mean?).

    A decisive feature for me are Trackbacks since I rely on them to let people know that I am commenting on their posts. I am not sure if Disqus is able to handle them.

    Finally, I would love to be able to use the SMS notifications in Belgium (maybe for free like Google Calendar?) :-)

    So that concludes my initial feedback on Disqus :-) Thanks for creating a great app and keep up the good work!
  • Thanks for the feedback and I agree. In fact, every one of the things
    you mention is on our immediate Todo list and we've been working to
    get them out.

    I'm sorry the WordPress plugin wasn't clear -- replace just means to
    use Disqus for your blog posts. The Disqus comment system "replaces"
    your old WordPress system. We'll make this clearer immediately.

    We don't handle trackbacks in the traditional sense, but we're going
    to implement our own (better) version.
